Food Hacking Base (fhb) is group of hackers from all over the world who share the love of experimenting with food, beverages and bio. Merging ancient knowledge with today’s scientific understanding and tomorrow’s technology is our goal. We are building tools, developing new techniques of food&drink preparation documenting what we do and sharing it freely. We promote these concepts on some of the world major hacker events focusing on experimental and educational aspects.
Within the Maker Faire Ruhr we offer workshops on: Introduction to soybean fermentation – tempeh making; Kombucha is easy; Kefir making; Advanced probiotic brewing; Beer making; Kimchi making; Building your Experimental Incubator and other, mostly fermentation based workshops. The workshops are preferably hands on so people come and learn both theory and practice.
